- I volunteered at the Waterfront Blues Festival, benefiting the Oregon Food Bank. I was the people counter at the main gate. I spent a good chunk of time dancing and chatting with FragrantSami (who was working the till), and her bodyguard/sticker-hander-outer. I eventually started counting people by pretending my fingers were lasers and every click was a shot. It sounded a bit like “click click, pew pew! click click click, pew pew!”
- After the festival, Sami and I stayed for a band with a very sexy-voiced singer, then went to my favorite neighborhood bar to chill. While we were there, I got a text from another friend asking if I wanted to go see Magic Mike. I did.
- So, the three of us went to see Magic Mike. We were in a theater full of women, gay men, and the very rare boyfriend/husband. Everyone got into it so much, but the end was a bit…anti-climactic. Too much talking, not enough dancing. Afterwards, we worked ourselves into a lather talking about a Magic Mike/Avengers mashup. Just imagine Loki stripping….
- Then we went to Red Robin to get some snacks/drinks and happened to stumble upon half of a barbershop quartet convention. There were all these lovely voiced men, crooning such lovely music. It did not help our already skewed expectations after coming out of that movie.
I had a great time today…though I might have under-hydrated. I’ve got a killer headache now, but I can say that it was all worth it.
